The Impact of Pacing Mode and the Anatomical Position of Pacing Lead on the Incidence of Heart Failure
Journal Title: Journal of Applied Quantitative Methods - Year 2009, Vol 4, Issue 4
Abstract
In Romania in the last decade, pacing is playing an increasingly important role in the management of cardiac disease. If, at first, attention of the cardiologists and researchers was focusing on the electrical rather than functional effects of pacing, the fact that pacing the RV may initially improve cardiac function but may induce heart failure over time, has led to a change in direction. This study evaluates comparative the clinical outcome as well the incidence and predictors of heart failure in 38 patients with VVIR pacing, VDDR and DDDR pacing implanted in “Sf. Ioan” Hospital, Bucharest, over a period of 2 years. We also intended to evaluate the long-term effects of alternative right ventricular pacing sites on LVEF.

The Probability Model for Risk of Vulnerability to STDs/or HIV Infection among Pre-Marital Female Migrants in Urban India
In the study, authors have proposed a mathematical model for unmarried female migrant workers having number of closed boy friends. They are more vulnerable to STDs and HIV transmission. The model is fitted well on the gi...
Minimization, Constraints and Composite Bezier Surfaces
This paper presents a global method for approximation and/or construction of surfaces using constraints. The method is based on a min max problem which describes approximation and differential geometric characteristics,...
An Application of Mindsadbesd Regression
In this work, an application of the modified minsadbed (minimizing sum of absolute differences between deviations) approach for a fuzzy environment is given. This type of regression was used for a statistical model with...
Models and Systems for Structurization of Knowledge in Training
In this work the problems of the automated structurization and activation of the knowledge, saved and used by mankind, during the organization and training, and also that knowledge which are generated by experts (includi...
The Learning Paradox and the University
Universities are by their nature learning based organizations. They deliver knowledge to students through teaching processes. Students acquire knowledge through learning processes, from their professors and from other di...
