THE IMPACT OF POTASSIUM MANGANATE (VII) ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF COAGULATION IN THE REMOVAL OF IRON AND MANGANESE FROM GROUNDWATER WITH AN INCREASED CONTENT OF ORGANIC SUBSTANCES
Journal Title: Civil and Environmental Engineering Reports - Year 2017, Vol 4, Issue 27
Abstract
The article presents the results of studies concerning the impact of the method of Fe(II) ion oxidisation (dissolved oxygen and potassium manganate (VII)) on the effectiveness of coagulation in the removal of iron and manganese from groundwater with an increased content of organic substances. The efficiencies of two coagulants were compared: aluminium sulphate (VI) and polyaluminium chloride (Flokor 1.2A). Among the used methods of iron (II) oxidisation, the best effects have been achieved by potassium manganate (VII) because one of the oxidation products was manganese oxide (IV) precipitating from water. Better results in purifying the water were obtained with the use of a prehydrolysed coagulant Flokor 1.2 A than aluminium sulphate (VI).

Stationary heat conduction in laminates with non-uniform distribution of laminas
In this paper it is analysed a stationary heat conduction in laminates made of two materials non-periodically distributed as microlaminas along one direction. It is assumed that this laminate has a functionally (transver...
RANGES OF BACKWATER CURVES IN LOWER ODRA
In the paper, the backwater curve ranges at the mouth of the Odra River with changing boundary conditions were analysed. The aim of the study is to determine which boundary condition, i.e. stage of lower cross-section or...
NUMERICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL ANALYSIS OF A SHEAR CONNECTION MADE USING A TOP-HAT PROFILE
The paper proposed a numerical model of a shear connection between a reinforced concrete slab and a steel shape. The connection was made using a top-hat profile. A method for conducting experimental research on shear con...
Spatial distribution of iron and aluminum in pore water and bottom sludge of the meromictic acid lake no 54, Łuk Mużakowski, Poland
The spatial distribution of iron and aluminum in bottom sludge and pore water of the meromictic acid pit lake no 54 situated in Łuk Mużakowski, Poland were examined. Samples were taken three times from two places located...
The complexes of antibiotics with trace metals
This article, basing on the available literature, summarizes the results of physiochemical research into the structure of complexes of trace metals with antibiotics. It presents the leading methods of instrumental analys...
