The Impact of Special Training Program in Improving the Care Provided For Mechanically Ventilated Patients (Pre and Post Evaluation)

Abstract

The care of the mechanically ventilated patient is a fundamental component of a nurse's clinical practice in the intensive care unit (ICU), therefore it seems natural to devote a great deal of work for preparing and training staff before allowing them to work with patients with mechanical ventilation. This study aimed to assess the effects of an educational program for ICU nurses on their knowledge and performance toward mechanically ventilated patients.The sample composed of 80 ICU nurse .Three tools were used for data collection: Socio-demographic data sheet, Performance of the Nurses toward mechanically ventilated patients Questionnaire, and Nurses Knowledge about mechanical ventilation Questionnaire.
