THE IMPACT OF WATER UPON THE WEAR OF RAILWAY RAILS IN SELECTED SERVICE CONDITIONS
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2019, Vol 284, Issue 2
Abstract
The article presents, in a complex way, the impact of most essential operational factors upon tribological properties such as the wear and the friction coefficient being the main causes of fatigue contact wear in the rolling-sliding contact both in the presence and absence of water. Operational curves have been developed to predict the character and intensity of the wear in various operational conditions. This seems crucial for the improvement of the safety of rail vehicles.

INFLUENCE OF EROSIVE PARTICLES IMPACT ANGLE ON EROSIVE WEAR INTENSITY OF POLYURETHANE COATINGS
The article presents examination results of the influence of alundum particle impact angle on the kinetics of the erosive wear of polyurethane coatings. Examined three-layer polyurethane coatings of an average thickness...
THE INFLUENCE OF THE CONDITIONS OF INVESTIGATIONS ON TRIBOCORROSION OF STEEL AISI 304 IN SOLUTION OF 0.5 M H2SO4
The paper presents the results of tests of tribocorrosion wear of stainless steel AISI 304 in solution of 0.5M H2SO4. The experiments were carried out on a technical stand with a model pair type pin-ondisc. The stand was...
NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF THE FRICTION COEFFICIENT ON STRESS DURING THE EXTRUSION PROCESS OF PERFORATED MATERIAL
Numerical analysis of stress, forces, and temperature during axisymmetrical cold extrusion of an aluminium alloy specimen was presented using Deform 3D. The rigid-plastic model was applied. The influence of a friction co...
