Abstract
The article is devoted to the doctrinal basis of formation of the institute of decentralization in juris- prudence and legislation of Ukraine. Also indicated ways of optimizing the legal and administrative aspects of the implementation of the principle of decentralization in the process of modernization of the sphere of management of environmental protection and use of natural resources at the regional level.
