The Importance of Optimal Design in Outdoor Light Source Positioning
Journal Title: Analele Universitatii "Eftimie Murgu" Resita. Fascicula de Inginerie - Year 2018, Vol 25, Issue 2
Abstract
In this work we underline the importance of the optimal design for out-door light systems such that light posts and sources are placed correctly. We present a case study where we considered a city road section equipped with LED sources. On this section, we measured technical luminous coefficients, which were then compared with values listed in standard and normative documentation. Based on this we did a new design that had to follow certain requirements on street and lighting post configuration. Comparing the two designs we conclude that, to have an optimal street light system, the engineer must aim for the best possible design and consider this when deciding on the position of the light sources.

Aspects regarding the Calculation of the Dielectric Loss Angle Tangent between the Windings of a Rated 40 MVA Transformer
The paper aims to identify how to determine the dielectric loss angle tangent of the electric transformers from the transformer stations. Autors of the paper managed a case study on the dielectric established between hig...
Simple and Multi-collision of an Ellipsoid with Planar Surfaces. Part I: Theory
This paper discusses the problem of simultaneous collisions between an ellipsoid and some planar surfaces. The approach is one based on the theory of screws and uses the notion of inertance. The authors consider that th...
The Hill Chart Calculation for Francis Runner Models using the HydroHillChart - Francis Module Software
In practice, for the design of hydraulic turbines, laboratory tests performed on reduced scale models of turbines are recommended. The optimisation of a turbine model requires extensive experimental research on several v...
Design for a Sustainability of a Commercial Product: A Case Study of a Dynamic Loudspeaker
Sensitivity-based analysis carried out on the production of dynamic loudspeakers for client (A) and (B) showed that client (A) has reliability efficiency 0f 20.4% with 90% of Tp, 30%-Ep, 50%-Ecp, while client (B) has 30%...
Experimental Generation of the Intersection Curve of Two Cylinders: An Algorithm Based on a New Paradigm
Computational Geometry is currently using approximation techniques based on convex polygons, with good results in some topics, but with severe limitation of applicability. In this paper we present the first step of a lar...
