The influence of high Cd2+ concentration on antioxidant system of wheat etiolated shoots with different length
Journal Title: Журнал ÑтреÑÑ-физиологии и биохимии - Year 2011, Vol 7, Issue 3
Abstract
The influence of high CdCl[sub]2[/sub] concentrations on antioxidant system of wheat ([i]Triticum aestivum[/i] L.) etiolated shoots with different length was studied. It is shown that wheat etiolated shoots with different length differs in reaction of their antioxidant system on Cd[sup]2+[/sup] influence. The rate of lipid peroxidation was the highest in Cd[sup]2+[/sup] treated shoots with minimal length. Between Cd[sup]2+[/sup] treated shoots, shoots with maximal length had the highest catalase bat not peroxidase activity.

Effect of chelating agents and metal ions on nickel bioavailability and chlorophyll fluorescence response in wheat- An approach for attenuation of Ni stress
The objectives of the study are to analyze the physiological changes, biochemical alterations and attenuation of nickel toxicity effects in wheat seedlings under combined applications of Ni ions, metal chelators (EDTA/Ci...
Effect of Glycine Betaine and Salicylic Acid on Growth and Productivity of Droughted Wheat Cultivars: Image Analysis for Measuring the Anatomical Features in Flag Leaf and Peduncle of the Main Shoot
The present study was planned to investigate the possible role displayed by water stress and application of GB, SA or their interaction on some anatomical features in flag leaf at anthesis (after 95 days from sowing) by...
Impact of exogenous salicylic acid on growth and ornamental characteristics of calendula (Calendula officinalis L.) under salinity stress
Application of salicylic acid (SA) as a phytohormone has been increased due to resistance to stresses such as salt stress. Pot experiments were conducted to determine the effect of exogenous salicylic acid application on...
