THE INFLUENCE OF METAL FILAMENT ON EVAPORATION KINETICS OF SUSPENDED FUEL DROPLET

Abstract

In terms of classical theory of a droplet evaporation, the effect of heat transfer through metal filament is considered taking into account Stefan flow and natural convection. Correction for heat transfer through the suspension, which allows adjusting the constant evaporation rate experimental values, was analytically obtained. Temperature dependence of evaporation heat and expansion feasibility of liquid fuel saturated steam pressure at the ambient gas temperature, in determining the droplets equilibrium temperature was also taken into account. The application of obtained amendments and digital image processing, taking into account the droplets non-sphericity in the gravity field has helped confirming the droplet vaporization d2-law.
