The influence of sacral buildings on spatial structure and landscape identity

Abstract
The subject of the article is the urban cultural landscape and the influence of the Christian religion (Roman Catholic Church) on the landscape. The research was aimed to determine the influence of the sacral buildings on the southern Warsaw landscape spatial structure and identity. The research consists of an analysis of the period, and circumstances of parishes establishment, and the delimitation of their borders and church location selection, determination of the parishes landscape composition and spatial structure. The research showed that the sacral architectural influence on the landscape's spatial structure and identity is still visible.
