The influence of sludge arrays on the environment and the assessment of capability for their phytomelioration

Abstract
The article deals with the main spheres of application of red mud. The condition of the Nikolaev Alumina Plant Tailings Management Facility is defined. The main types of the impact of tailings ponds on the environment are estimated. The dangers and the possible precautions against them are described.
