Abstract
This is a short account of the wives of Muhammad (PBUH), meant to shed light on the individual personalities of the eleven wives and the circumstances of the various marriages. The wisdom behind Muhammad's (PBUH) polygamy explained in this account. Mother of the Believers" is a term by which each of Muhammad's wives came to be prefixed over time. It is derived from the Quran (33:6): "The Prophet is closer to the believers than their selves, and his wives are (as) their mothers" is applied to all of the wives. Muslims often use the term "Mothers of the Believers" prominently before or after referring to them as a sign of respect. In Arabian culture, marriage was contracted in accordance with the larger needs of the tribe and was based on the need to form alliances within the tribe and with other tribes. Virginity at the time of marriage was emphasizing as a tribal honor. In this article, we discussed the biographies of the Mothers of the Believers. Furthermore, we selected 12 books that have been written in the form of biographies and then we compared these books based on supremacy and many other characteristics. Allah wanted them to be a living example of faith, piety, knowledge, wisdom, and noble morals and indeed, they truly were. Furthermore, owing to their intimate association with the Prophet’s and his teaching, what they had witnessed of his refined manners, they became examples for all other women in piety and in the commendable treatment of the husband. Allah favored them by glorifying them in His Qur'an. That is and will always be living in the hearts and the minds of the Muslims.
