The Length-Biased Weighted Erlang Distribution
Journal Title: Asian Research Journal of Mathematics - Year 2017, Vol 6, Issue 3
Abstract
We introduce and study a new continuous model so called, the length-biased weighted Erlang (LBWE) distribution. Some mathematical properties of the new distribution such as, raw and incomplete moments, generating functions, Rényi of entropy, order and record statistics are investigated. The moments and maximum likelihood estimates are obtained for the model parameters. An application to real data set is used to illustrate the usefullness of the new model.

Subharmonic Solutions of Governed MEMS System Subjected to Parametric and External Excitations
Subharmonic periodic solutions of order ( 1 2 , 1 4 ) to a weakly second order ordinary differential equation which governed the motion of a micro-dynamical system are studied analytically. Applying the method of multipl...
Effects of Electrification of Particles and Viscous Dissipation on Unsteady Two-phase Flow over a Stretching Sheet
Aim: The unsteady boundary layer incompressible fluid (gas) with suspended particulate matter (SPM) with special attention to electrification of particles over a stretching sheet has been investigated. The rate of stretc...
Sensitivity Analysis of Ebola Virus Model
A Mathematical model of is presented to study the dynamical spread of Ebola in the population. Existence of the Local Stability of the disease–free equilibrium (DFE) was investigated via the threshold parameter (Reprodu...
The Population Question in Nigeria: Models and Reliable Projections
The question of Nigeria’s actual population has remained a very sensitive one within the country because there are very obvious constitutional advantages of large populations conferred on constituent parts of the Nation....
A Simple SEIR Mathematical Model of Malaria Transmission
We have studied an SEIR mathematical model, and applied it to malaria transmission. We discussed the existence and stability of the Disease-Free (DFE) and Endemic Equilibria (EE) of both models. The (DFE) was locally asy...
