Employee engagement combines elements of belonging, commitment, motivation, readiness and productivity. Management plays an important role in employee engagement and its level largerly determines the intensity of employee cooperation with the leadership. The goals of the paper were to explore: to what extent encouraging work engagement is present among Slovenian employees, and which approaches to encouraging work engagement are evaluated as the most important ones by the employees. A survey on the sample of 300 Slovenian employees was conducted. The results of the survey indicate that a high proportion of disengagement is present among employees.
