THE LHC AND THE DISCOVERY OF THE HIGGS BOSON:50 YEARS OF HIGGS MECHANISM
Journal Title: Odessa Astronomical Publications - Year 2014, Vol 27, Issue 1
Abstract
We describe briefly the ATLAS detector and some of the physics results on QCD, top physics and. the Higgs boson discovery that lead to the Nobel Prize of Physics in 2013. We finish the short report by a new method to look for extra-dimensions in the universe.

THE ROTATING DISC EFFECT
It is demonstrated that it is possible to obtain a significant small-scale gradient of spatial properties using the rotating disc.
HE I 5876 LINE STRUCTURE IN THE SPECTRA OF IL CEP A
We are presents the results of researches of the He l λ5876 Å (D3) line in the spectrum of Herbig Be type star IL Cep A. This line represents the absorption structure which has a width on the level of the continuum about...
VARIABILITY FEATURES OF THE RADIO SOURCE OT 081 IN CENTIMETER WAVELENGTH RANGE
OT 081 – BL Lac object, intensively studied for many years in a wide range of the electromagnetic spectrum. We used observational data for 1999-2011 years, obtained on radio telescope at Michigan State University (UMRA...
Superspace approach to the quantization of charged black holes with allowance for the cosmological constant
In the present paper, we study the geometry of a mini-superspace and its relation to the corresponding space-time geometry of a spherically symmetric configuration of electromagnetic and gravitational fields, taking into a...
ASTROMETRIC CCD OBSERVATIONS OF SELECTED WDS MULTIPLE STAR SYSTEMS
Main objective of the study is getting information about multiple and double stars that allow us to determine whether this pair is physically link system. Physically bounded star systems are source of unique information...
