THE MICROBIOLOGICAL MONITORING OF QUALITY OF DRINKING WATER IN KHARKOV REGION
Journal Title: Український журнал медицини, біології та спорту - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
The main sources of pathogenic bacteria, viruses and parasites are domestic and sewage settlements. Diseases can be caused by these microorganisms. They are quite different and can cause serious problems with human body. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the quality and safety of drinking water for microbiological parameters. Materials and methods. 13 samples of drinking water were the material for the study. Studies were conducted by using laboratory (microbiological) methods, according to the Orders of Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Results. The study of six samples of centralized water consumption from different points determined that four samples of six bacterial microflora growth was detected in two samples of water isolated colonies quantity and does not exceed health standards for drinking water. It was established the presence of Agrobacterium spp. which exceeds the norm due to sanitary and microbiologic evaluation of drinking water. It was established medicinal resistance of Agrobacterium spp. Microbiological control of water detected the presence in one sample of the water such culture as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, from two samples of water Acinetobacter spp. was isolated in such number that exceeds indicated norms. Two samples of water contained cultures Enterococcus spp. and Staphylococcus saprophyticus in allowable indices but it indicates possible contamination of water. Water sample for child’s nutrition was free from bacterial microflora. Conclusions. During microbiological evaluation of drinking water it was indicated that in four samples from six one the growth of bacterial microflora has not been detected, in two samples of water number of isolated colonies does not exceed sanitary norms for drinking water. Filters can be as the source of microorganisms. During the result of microbiological investigation it was established that number of bacteria exceeds indicated norms for drinking water and registered antibiotic-resistance culture культура Agrobacterium spp., which is potentially dangerous for person’s health. During the result of sanitary and microbiological evaluation of drinking water it has been indicated that water was sterilized only for child’s nutrition. Type of bottling did not influence on water quality, but number of microorganisms can affect its quality. Microbiological investigations of drinking water of Khrakiv region spread of cultures such as Bacillus spp., Staphylococcus warneri, Agrobacterium spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus spp., Staphylococcus saprophyticus, Acinetobacter spp. were established.
