The research aims to reveal the subtle nuances that evoke joy, delight, and merriment by analyzing a diverse range of proverbs. By systematically examining the linguistic structures, contexts, and cognitive connections associated with these proverbs, this study sheds light on the intricate relationship between language, cognition, and emotions. This study reveals several noteworthy findings. Secondly, emotional resonances in English proverbs are identified as consisting of three distinct types - communal celebrations and shared experiences, abundance and togetherness, and prompting reflection on its transient essence. Lastly, the study highlights the interconnectedness between linguistic structures, cognitive mechanisms, and emotional experiences in English proverbs, which collectively represent the emotion of Joy.
