The non-conservative problem of stability of compressed rectangular plate

Abstract

In this paper the problem of stability of the perturbed motion of a plate is investigated. Two opposite edges of the plate are simply supported and the other two free edges loaded by "follower" and/or "dead" forces. The critical values of the loads in which the plate loses stability were found and analyzed.
