The origin of ICT policies in the European Union (end of 1990’s — 2010)

Abstract
The article examines the origin in the EU a unified policy regarding the ICT sector and the beginnings of the creation of common information space in the region. The author analyzes the main stages of the implementation of this policies («e-Europe 2002», «e-Europe 2005», «European Information Society 2010»), which were implemented into life during the 5th, 6th and 7th framework programs of the European Union.
