The Perception of God and Life in Refugee Children Who Are Wictims of War: Syrian Children Between 7-12 Years

Abstract

Children who have been subjected to trauma before, during and after the war face uncertain life situations. This poses a significant risk factor on their men-tal health. In these researches, these risks shown as losing their homes and homelands before migration, staying apart from their parents and peers, li-ving lost, worrying about the disruption of their education, health and eco-nomic opportunities and traumatic disorders related to witnessing the torture and death of family members and problems related to migration. Factors such as exposure to violence and unfavorable living conditions, malnutrition and uncertainty about the future during migration can lead to a new trauma process, in addition to the traumas they experienced during the war period, children may experience a new trauma process. Difficulties related to family adaptation after migration, education in a new language, cultural adjustment, intergenerational conflict, discrimination and social exclusion among school or friends are also among the risk factors. In this study, it will be examined to the life perception of refugee children in the developmental context against the traumas they have experienced and their perception of God.
