Abstract

The article deals with the problem of classification of massmedia in the conditions of socio-political transformations in Ukraine in the late 80’s of the XX century – early of the XXI century. That is why issues of modern approaches to their classification are important issues. The topic of the massmedia research is dedicated to a large number of works by domestic scientists. In particular, some aspects of the study of this issue are covered in the works by M. Vasilik, V. Pavlova, A. Kuznetsova, N. Moroz, V. Moskavtseva etc. However, many questions still remain poorly understood from the historical point of view. His circumstance predetermined the formation of the goals and purpose of the article – on the basis of a complex elaboration of sources to determine the historical aspects of the formation of approaches to the classification of mass media in the conditions of socio-political transformations in Ukraine in the 80’s of the XX century – early of the XXI century.
