Abstract

The 16th century is the pinnacle of the Turkish Sufi literature. The tekke poems written during this period are characterized by the exceptional popularity of divine verses about love that were written in the folk style. In the 16th century, such religious movements as halvati, jalvati, gulshani, close to the clergy, reached the peak of their development. The movement of simplification, which began in the 15th century in the Sufi literature, became even wider when the vezn style entered the directions of halvati, gulshani, jalvati, mevlavi. The tekke poets began to write poetry in a simple, Arab-Persian composition, in particular, using the vezn or aruz syllables. Representatives of the tasawwuf poetry of the 16th century sought to express the divine love in their works. Ibrahim Gulshaniya was one of the prominent representatives of this kind of the poetic literature in the 16th century in Anadolu, who created the gulshaniya trend in halvatia. He was a mighty poet who wrote poetry in three languages – Turkish, Persian and Arabic, he created 75 000 beyts. The Turkish divan of Ibrahim Gulshaniya, written in Turkic language, consisted of 24 thousand beyts. He also wrote “Pandnama” explaining the tasawwuf in simple language, mesnevi in Turkic language – “Raznam”, “Kidemname”, “Chobanname”, Arabian and Persian divans and imitation to Movlana’s “Mesnavi”, in the form of “Menivi”, consisting of 40 thousand bayts. In the center of Gulshaniya’s Sufi worldview is divine love. Thus, according to the Sufi worldview, God, who possesses absolute perfection, created a world that reflects his beauty, the entire living universe and, most importantly, the human being. Turkish literature of the 16th century is characterized as a period when the literature of Sufism reached its peak in all areas.
