THE PROBLEM OF WOMEN’S MINIMAL PARTICIPATION IN POLITICAL DECISION-MAKING: GENDER EXPERTISE OF UKRAINIAN LEGISLATION

Abstract
The article is devoted to the actual problem of the minimum participation of women in political decision-making. The author aims to conduct gender expertise of the legislation of modern Ukraine on this issue, carefully examines the international legal framework for the production of gender equality. Analyzing the European experience of gender policy, the prospects of its use in Ukraine are considered. The use of structural and functional analysis and the systematic method as the main ones in the study made it possible to conclude on the main parameters of women’s participation put forward by international organizations and to define a scheme for establishing and maintaining a gender balance in society. The result of the work is practical recommendations for the elimination of gender discrimination and the improvement of Ukrainian gender legislation.
