The prospect of losses and benefits in the context of the exploration and production of shale gas in Poland

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present the potential economic, social and environmental losses and benefits of exploration and then drawing the shale gas in Poland. In the chapter 2, 3 and 4 were presented the exploration and in-vestments in infrastructure cost with the potential profits from mining. Also in chapter 5 were analyzed the information on the environmental and health risks presented by different groups: supporters and opponents of shale gas extraction in Poland, pointing to important differences. Summation of the article is to specify the advantages and disadvantages of exploration and production of shale gas in Poland.
