Journal Title: World Science - Year 2018, Vol 5, Issue 4

Abstract

The relevance of this article is due to the fact that myopia is the most common anomaly of refraction, in which visual functions are violated. This violation of visual function is detected in every sixth person0 of the planet, students are especially prone to this disease, since the stress on the eyes during their studies at the university is significantly increased. The aim of this article is to study the percentage of myopic morbidity among students in primary and higher courses, where the goal is to slow the progression of myopia, reduce the incidence rate and prevent its possible complications, by educating students. As a result of the study, 523 students from KazNMU aged from 17 to 25 were examined. Of these, 223 students were diagnosed with myopia. Among the students, the decrease in vision was detected in 321, which was 61.38% of the total number of those surveyed. In the ophthalmological examination of these students, myopic refraction was detected in 223 students (69.4%). Conclusions. Among the students, there is a high prevalence of myopia and the number of students from this incidence is increasing every year. Therefore it is necessary to conduct comprehensive preventive measures in universities, health education and regular medical check-ups. Such information would allow to carry out targeted preventive measures to reduce the incidence of complications of myopia.
