The Role and Importance of Applied Job Training in Vocational Schools Struggling Youth Unemployment in Turkey: The Example of Honaz Vocational School

Abstract
Abstract: In Turkey, young graduates in vocational school graduate and postgraduate unemployment rates are higher than other groups. For this reason, vocational and technical higher education is criticized for not being able to train graduates with the qualifications demanded by the labor market. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effect of reducing the youth unemployment by taking into account the various occupational trainings that have been started to be implemented in vocational schools. The research was conducted through a questionnaire containing 11 questions with a five-point Likert-response component and a demographic question block. The research is suited to quantitative research design in longitudinal but non-experimental form as a method. Descriptive techniques have been used in research analyzes. Accordingly, rate of unemployment are high in young graduates of higher education. The application provides a high level of craft knowledge to the Vocational High School students, strengthens the university-industry cooperation and stands as a powerful tool for combating youth unemployment. However, the harmony between implementation and curriculum is poor. If this compliance is strengthened, it is likely to produce more effective outputs.
