The role and importance of the oil strategy in the development of foreign economic relations of Azerbaijan

Abstract
The given article considers the origins of the development and formation of the external economic relations of Azerbaijan, indicates the main directions and tasks of the state policy in the years of independence. The article also contains the role of the new oil strategy in the development of the external economic relations of Azerbaijan and its impact on the socio-economic development of the country and the possibility of an inflow of foreign investment into the country. Volume, structure and geography of investment contributed in the economy of the oil and gas sector of the republic are analyzed according to the basis of statistical data of the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan. The article considers the status and prospects of natural gas exports from Azerbaijan, indicates the role of Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TAPL) and Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) in the development of the Southern Gas Corridor.
