Abstract

Senior preschool age is the beginning of the formation of principles of tolerance. Primary social assessment of the child will win from adults' gains special significance because the preschool children’s experience of perception of the world is still small; there are no stereotypes of consciousness and behaviour. With age and development, learning and gaining social experience certain opinions concerning certain phenomena and facts of everyday life are gradually formed in child’s consciousness and behaviour. The article presents a theoretical analysis of the scientific views on the basic role of assessment at the initial stage of preschool children’s tolerance formation. It was found that the preschool children assimilate the information about the object necessary for tolerance formation, develop thinking and form the assessment of this object. At the age of 3-7 years children develop ethical standard samples that contain a generalized idea of positive or negative features in behaviour and life situations. Adults’ behaviour, manners and gestures are of great importance in children’s tolerance and assessment formation, as they are characterized by high inheritance. The role of parents and teachers in children’s forming judgments is justified. The influence of literature, media, cartoons and computer games as models of tolerant/ intolerant judgments and assessment on the child’s formation of tolerant behaviour is analyzed. The author comes to the conclusion about the necessity of filtering the information they carry in order to protect the child from negative influence.
