The role of communication in the socialization of the individual

Abstract
The article discusses the function and value of the communication process in the process of socialization of the individual. Special attention is paid to the important factor of conjugation of these two social concepts, which are key for the upbringing and education in our society. The relevance of the study of communication in the process of socialization of the individual in modern society is associated with the sociocultural transformations inherent in our era of the turn of the 20–21 centuries. The processes of socialization and communication are so closely intertwined that it is difficult to imagine them without each other. Through communication, socialization is carried out as an important characteristic of the formation of social consciousness, the development of sociocultural values and the world outlook of the individual. Deterministic socialization and communication in different eras give different semantic content both in time and in content, as the changing conditions of introducing all the new characteristics associated, for example, with virtual reality or mobility opportunities.
