The role of information technologies in managing resource saving of mechanical engineering enterprise

Abstract
Introduction. It is argued that the informatization of production processes of the mechanical engineering enterprises is the main means of managing production processes. The scientific approaches of the methodology of studying informatization as a process are presented. The purpose is to determine the role of information technology in managing resource saving of the mechanical engineering enterprise. Results. The author’s understanding of the concept of “informatization of production processes of the mechanical engineering enterprise” is presented, which should be understood as the process of systematic and controlled formation of interrelated organiza-tional, legal, political, socio-economic, scientific and technical, innovative processes aimed at creating conditions for meeting the infor-mation needs of the production process of the enterprise on the basis of creation, development and use of a qualitatively new level of information systems, networks, resources and information technologies, based on the use of modern computing and communication machinery, their practical application in business to solve current and strategic tasks. The types and designation of automated systems of information support for the enterprise’s activity management are studied. Conclusions. Informatization of production processes of the mechanical engineering enterprise is the main means of managing production processes and can significantly increase the efficiency of their automation and management on the basis of active formation and use of information resources of the industrial sphere. Informatization of the machine-building enterprise is associated with the widespread use of methods and means of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in production processes, which allows creating access to the resources of the indicated environment for the subjects of the production process, using its facilities and services when setting, solving and controlling various tasks, including in the area of resource saving planning.
