The Role of Land Structure in shaping The Amlas Land
Journal Title: Geographia Napocensis - Year 2011, Vol 0, Issue 2
Abstract
Settlements Typology of Amlaş Land. Land structure highlights the level of natural resources and can easily show the weight of each agricultural branch in the occupations of the inhabitants and the problems facing the local economy. The region layout, mostly in mountain area determined a specific agricultural land use. Thus, the large extension of forest lands (53% of the region) and those occupied by pastures and meadows (31%) imposed to the inhabitants their main occupations: grazing and forestry. On the other hand, limited arable land did not cover the region needs, which was the basis for an ongoing exchange of products with low areas.
