The Role of Penitentiary Units in Developing the Readaptation Potential and Reintegration of Prisoners

Abstract
The preparation of convicts for a life of freedom requires many educational and organizational measures, that can help develop the readaptation and reintegration potential of people leaving penitentiary institutions. The article discusses the problems of convicts released from penitentiary units, related to their stigmatization and social exclusion, as well as systemic ways of preparing convicts to live in freedom. The penitentiary interactions increasing the readaptation and reintegration potential of the convicts and the post-penitentiary assistance system, as a continuation of the actions taken in prison to ensure constructive continuity on persons committing offenses thus reducing criminal recidivism.
