Journal Title: International Journal of Pharmacognosy - Year 2018, Vol 5, Issue 2
Abstract
Cancer is one of the most common reasons mortality in worldwide. Leukemia as one type of cancer is a serious threat for human. Although there are many synthetic drug to treat leukemia but the use of them is limited due to side effect, therefore there is a dire need to find a promising solution. Herbs and their compound can be promising candidates for control leukemia. In this study, we review new studies entitled role of extracts of herbs to inhibit leukemia since 2014 to now. Our review study showed that herbs have anticancer activities through cell proliferation inhibition. This feature is due to induction of apoptosis and increase of free radical formation in cancer cell. Finally, we suggest that need to special attention to herbs in order to treat leukemia.
