The role of vegetative and emotional disorders in the chronization of duodenal peptic ulcer

Abstract
Objective — to define the role of vegetative and emotional disorders in the chronization of duodenal peptic ulcer (DPU). Materials and methods. The study involved 62 patients (39 men і 23 women) with DPU, aged 18 to 42 (mean age 28.3 years). The state of vegetative nervous systems was investigated in accordance with standard scheme with analysis of the initial vegetative tonus. The unified questionnaires and schemes were used for the analysis of presence and degree of the syndrome of vegetative dystonia. Results. It has been established that formation of the dissociation between vegetative and emotional disorders psychosis one of the mechanisms of the DPU chronization, where increased anxiety was associated with vegetative parasympathicotonia and deficiency of vegetative supporting of physical activity. Conclusions. The treatment scheme for the duodenal peptic ulcer should include tranquilizers and antidepressants, and in the case of a chronic disease course of the disease — vegetotropic medications with tonic effect.
