The Situation of Green Areas of Towns in Klaipėda District and Their Planting Trend

Abstract
In the Klaipeda district urban areas are about 44 percent. In the work greenery situation of 6 biggest towns was analysed. The plant assortment in all places was very minor, only a few species of trees and scrubs, dominated Tilia, Picea in all places, a few of perennial flowers, gardens and hedges. The plants were planting before the War II or in a soviet time, they are old, in Dituva planting heritage is from collective gardens' style. In the towns, there are not feeling of unique greenery conception, the flower gardens are located in the centres, dominate seasonal, annual plants. Esthetical economical gardening, when priority is on the overall landscape, style of houses, streets and communication system, never was chosen. In the greenery the annual plants and scrubs comprised a very small part.
