The Situation of Hydroelectrical Power Plants (HPPs) in Turkey and an Evaluation in Terms of Environmental Politics

Abstract
This study examines the reliability and sustainability of Hydroelectric Power Plants (HPP) which are used in transformation of water as a renewable natural resource into electricity power from the perspective of environmental policies. Priority fields of the study include an in-depth analysis of physical and legal functioning mechanisms of HPPs and a discussion of the environmental policy in Turkey with respect to policy tools and principles with the example of HPPs.
