Abstract
Nutritional deficiencies are a global public health problem, especially among women of reproductive age. The present study is aimed at studying the causes of macro- and micronutrient deficiencies in women of reproductive age. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to identify factors associated with nutritional deficiencies in women. The findings suggest that inadequate micronutrient intake, poor dietary habits and socioeconomic factors are key causes of nutritional deficiencies among women of reproductive age.
