THE THEORY AND PRACTICAL ISSUES OF THE SELF-ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE APPLIED TO THE ACTIVITY OF THE INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

Nowadays, the problem of improving approaches to the quality management in education is a most challenging one. The article deals with the theory and practical issues of the organizational self-assessment as a means of quality management. For this purpose, scientific viewpoints on the content of this category, models, principles, methods of self-assessment have been analyzed. Peculiar features, possibilities and results of applying self-assessment to the educational process have been considered as an important means of permanent process aimed at improving organizational activity, the Eco-nomic faculty of N. P. Ogarev Mordovia State University being an example. The article describes the procedure of self-assessment at the economic faculty; it analyses the results achieved, the system of monitoring information about the satisfaction level of customers and other parties involved; it shows the mechanism of integrating self-assessment results into the process of planning. The research was done on the process and system approach; the following methods were applied: comparing analysis, self-assessment, questionnaires, web-diagram.
