THE TRANSITION TO A EUROPEAN MODEL FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE AND FOOD SAFETY IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The article deals with theoretical and practical research of state control of the food market. It is government regulation that is one of the most difficult tasks of state governance in the world. This complexity is due to many aspects that the authorities must pay particular attention to – the health and interests of consumers, the health of animals, plants, and the economic interests of operators of one of the largest food markets in any country. In most countries, as in Ukraine, the state regulates the safety and quality of food products through the establishment of plant health requirements, animal health and welfare, the safety and quality of feed, and, of course, the safety and quality of the food itself. In addition, the authorities set requirements for the conditions for the production of feed and food products, which are also called hygienic requirements. It is obvious that, without checking compliance with all of these requirements, their performance can not be acceptable. That is why the state must also organize an efficient and effective control system.
