The use of intraoral scanning and digital models in orthodontic treatment with aligners. A case report.

Journal Title: Medicine in Evolution - Year 2018, Vol 0, Issue 2

Abstract

Digital impression techniques reduce the patient discomfort and are more time-efficient, thus creating a better patient experience. Intraoral scanning can be used in orthodontics to create clear aligners, which are indicated in mild orthodontic malocclusions. The purpose of this case report is to present an orthodontic treatment with aligners, which were custom-made based on the patients’ intraoral scans, designed to gradually shift the teeth in the desired position.
