THE USE OF NUMERICAL GROUNDWATER FILTRATION MODEL IN PLANNING OF DRAINAGE TRENCHES IN THE MODERNIZED WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IN MYSZKÓW

Abstract
The article presents the application of numerical model of groundwaterfiltration for assessment of necessary dewatering work range for the construction of wastewater treatment plant in Myszków. A mathematical model provides a possibility of selection the best quantity and location of drainage wells including the danger of land subsidence beneath existing buildings taking into account the depression of the groundwater table. Calculations with Modflow package were done for the three projected options of completion objects in a different dewatering techniques. The results of prognostic calculation are maps which show depression of groundwater table in the dewatering area and also estimating the value of land subsidence. The land subsidence is the main source of danger for existing buildings.
