The Use of Optical Methods in the Analysis of the Areas with Stress Concentration
Journal Title: Strojnicky casopis - Journal of Mechanical Engineering - Year 2018, Vol 68, Issue 2
Abstract
Anchoring parts of technical systems are often damaged due to the heavy forces acting on these systems during their operation. For that reason, various modifications are suggested and created on the anchoring screws, which should help to reduce the mechanical stress values in a place of the first load-bearing thread of a female screw. For the determination of stress fields on the surface of a plane model of a threaded joint, two non-contact optical methods were used – conventional transmission photoelasticimetry and modern digital image correlation.

Numerical Calculation of Overhead Power Lines Dynamics
This paper contains results of transient analysis of airflow around the ACSR power line cross-section in unsymmetric multi-span. The forces applied to the power line are obtained from CFD simulations, where the wind in...
Geometrically Similar Rectangular Passive Micromixers and the Scaling Validity on Mixing Efficiency and Pressure Drops
In the present work, two geometrically similar passive geometries with dumbbell shape were designed to perturb the dominating viscous forces in the low Reynolds number (Re) flows of the fluids. The geometries were desi...
Buckling Analysis of Hetero-Junction Carbon Nanotubes
The buckling analysis of carbon nanotubes without and with hetero-junctions is described in this paper. The buckling behaviour was investigated by the finite element method and the carbon nanotubes were modelled as spa...
An Estimating the Effect of Process Parameters on Metal Removal Rate and Surface Roughness in WEDM of Composite Al6063/SiC/Al2O3 by Taguchi Method
The present study was focused on the fabrication of metal matrix and hybrid metal matrix composites through stir casting process. The Aluminium 6063 was used as base material and SiC/Al2O3 were used as reinforcement wi...
Numerical Simulation of Heat Transfer Behavior of Dissimilar AA5052-AA6061 Plates in Fiction Stir Welding: An Experimental Validation
Fiction Stir welding (FSW) a unique type of metal joining process in solid state, where the heat generation takes place due to the friction action between the rotating tool and the work piece. It is generally used to j...
