Journal Title: Здоров`я дитини - Year 2015, Vol 5, Issue 65
Abstract
Introduction. Several methods of static and dynamic correction for asymmetry and functionality in congenital facial paralysis were described. Methods. We have presented the technique of a new approach to the surgical correction of face shape by «suspending» and fixing by silhouette-lift suture. We have treated a patient with congenital facial palsy. Results. One year after surgery, the patient’s facial asymmetry was corrected, smile and speech improved, which is accompanied by higher self-assessment and social adaptation. Conclusions. Static «suspension» of the face by silhouette-lift suture is a non-invasive, alternative treatment for patients who do not want or can not undergo more complex surgeries.
