THE USE OF THE FRACTAL GEOMETRY TO DESCRIBE THE PORE SPACE IN WET SOURCE CLAYS
Journal Title: Structure and Environment - Year 2017, Vol 0, Issue 3
Abstract
In this paper the authors attempted to use the fractal geometry to describe the pore space of the water-clay systems. The analysis was carried out on the source clays STx-1b and SWy-2. The values of the constant parameter k and fractal dimension D was determined by means of statistic. On this basis of the analysis, it was found that the description of the pore space using fractal geometry is possible.

THE EFFECT OF AN ORGANOMETALLIC CATALYST ON THE PROPERTIES OF PEN GRADE BITUMENS
The research objective of the experiments and analyses described in this paper was evaluation of the effect of a specific organometallic catalyst on the properties of 50/70 and 70/100 pen (paving) grade bitumens. The cat...
RESEARCH PROBLEMS THAT OCCUR DURING THE ANALYSIS OF THE WORK OF FRP-STRENGTHENED TIMBER BEAMS UNDER SUSTAINED LOADS
A special focus was given to the variation in deformability characteristics of these materials and to the resulting processes that occur in the work of the strengthened beams. Aims and objectives of these studies were al...
PECULIARITIES OF PHASE PROCESSES IN THE VOLUME OF LIQUID
The work is devoted to the study of the transient processes of heat and mass transfer in the volume of a liquid. The method of calculating the temperature field in a liquid takes into account phase transitions, motion of...
EFFECT OF THE ADDITION OF ASH FROM THE INCINERATION OF SEWAGE SLUDGE ON THE PROPERTIES OF CEMENT SLURRIES
The increase of quantity of ash from the combustion of sewage sludge will need to look for new methods of disposal. One method is to use sewage sludge ash as a partial substitute for cement. The oxide composition of the...
