Journal Title: Здоров`я дитини - Year 2013, Vol 8, Issue 51
Abstract
Scientists nowadays suppose that one of the factors of allergic disease progression is insufficient level of vitamin D in human body. That is why our goal was to investigate the expedience of using the vitamin D medications in complex therapy of allergic diseases in different periods of disease. We identify the vitamin D level in blood serum of 53 children diagnosed with bronchial asthma, atopic dermatitis and allergic rhinitis. In all children we detected the vitamin D deficiency in blood serum, the average index of it was 22.54 nM/l. Treatment with vitamin D was carried out in 31 children at a dose of 2000 IU during the 2 months. No patient was able to reach the normal levels of vitamin D in blood serum, which is needed for human body activity, the average index of vitamin D was 36.54 nM/l. In period of vitamin D intake 13 children were in remission, the increase of vitamin D in them was 26.23 nM/l. The rest 18 children during the prescription of vitamin D had episodes of exacerbation, increase of this vitamin was 6.89 nM/l. It is noticed that the exacerbation of the disease were milder and less enduring than previous ones, when vitamin D is not included in the combined therapy.
