THEORETICAL CONSIDERATIONS AND PRACTICAL APPROACHES FOR CALCULATING IPI AND ICA
Journal Title: Revista Romana de Statistica - Year 2010, Vol 58, Issue 2
Abstract
Implementation of the Classification of Activities in the National Economy revision 2 (CANE – Rev.2) in industrial statistics domain, raised a number of technical and methodological issues with complex implications in determining the industrial production index (IPI) and respectively of turnover index in industry (ICA) both at the national level and especially at the territorial level/county level. This is due to the large volume of processed data in terms of the adoption of 2005 as base year for calculating IPI and ICA. Present approach in current practice was imposed by the need to release some important indicators at territorial level, in some generalized methodological consistency conditions.
