Theoretical Research of the Traction Vehicle Motion

Abstract
The creation of a modern locomotive requires from designers and scientists the implementa-tion of scientific ideas and technical solutions that provide, in particular, the increase in structural speed with simultaneous improvement of traction, braking and dynamic qualities of the traction rolling stock. In the development of the state's economy, the role of transport remains one of the most significant and fundamental. Improving the technical and economic performances of railways operation also depends on the creation of rolling stock. The article presents theoretical research for the mainline electric locomotive of DS series, which was created in cooperation with Siemens concern at the Dnipropetrovs’k Electric Loco-motive Building (DELB) with the participation of a number of scientific and productive organi-zations, including Dni-propetrovsk National University of Railway Transport named after Acad-emician V. Lazaryan (DNURT). A simplified model of the electric locomotive is considered - a single-mass system taking into account only the body mass, which is supported by a single spring with equivalent stiffness, and has one dempfer of viscous resistance with an equivalent coefficient. While researching the mo-tion of a mechanical system, two cases are considered: the first - the motion along the track, which has no vertical irregularities; the second is the motion along the track that has them. The results of theoretical research for these tasks are presented in the form of: differential equations of motion, laws of motion of a single-mass system for both cases, as well as formulas for calculating the accelerations are given. The results obtained by theoretical research allow to reduce the experiment size, to choose such parameters of the traction vehicle that provide the necessary dynamic parameters of the lo-comotive, will reduce its impact on the track, improve the level of traffic safety on the railway.
