Time of Memetics: Development and Relevance

Abstract

Currently, memetics is not recognized as a scientific discipline, but as the Internet space increases, cultural information units (memes) have received the most favorable environment for their distribution and use. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the data on the emergence and history of the concept of “meme”, determine the significance of research in the field of memetics and suggest the possibility of meme application.
