Abstract
In contemporary times, Persian poetry as a cultural and human phenomenon has found a new and different function with its classical function. One of its conventional functions, which can be examined in the rhetorical system, is "Persona". In this way, the poet often brings his personality name from his cultural backbone to the vertical axis of the poetry, and beyond, he expresses his thoughts, feelings, and unspeakable speech indirectly and in his own language. Although Persona less attention has been paid to critics of Persian poetry, in contemporary poetry, many examples can be found for expressing this form of expression. In this research, an attempt has been made to investigate the Persona rhetoric in the poem "The Story of Sangestan City" of Akhavan Saleh and to determine the extent of the presence of this technique in this poem. His poem seems to have resulted in three attributes of "link with tradition", "storytelling" and "link with time" as a suitable platform for nurturing poetry masks. The results of this research have shown that masking, in addition to artistic purposes, has had political and social reasons for the poet. Akhavan has played its artistic and social role with this goal, and has been marginalized from the damage of autocratic rulers.
