To Study Indication of Lscs in Induced Nullipara and its Effect on Subsequent LSCS Rate

Journal Title: Indian Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology - Year 2018, Vol 6, Issue 2

Abstract

Objective: to study indication of LSCS in induced nullipara and its effect on subsequent LSCS rate. Materials and Method: This study was carried out at the department of obstetrics and gynecology, in our institute for 1000 consecutive caesarean section deliveries. Data was compiled from departmental records. Conclusion: In induced nullipara subjects , the indication for LSCS, with maximum number of subjects is MSL. And 2nd max is fetal distress. Hence, there should be prudent practice of induction of labour so as to reduce subsequent LSCS. Also reducing the rate of LSCS in nullipara will in turn reduce the overall LSCS rate. Result: Highest LSCS rate was observed in subjects with previous history of LSCS and 2nd highest was in induced Nulliparous subjects. Highest rate of LSCS was due to MSL in induced nullipara and 2nd highest was fetal distress.
