To the question of regional and social differences in the position of German Catholics under Hitler
Journal Title: UNKNOWN - Year 2019, Vol 3, Issue
Abstract
The article raises the issue of the need to study the local Catholic communities in Germany and compare their conditions during the Nazi dictatorship. The chances of Catholic priests to influence parishioners politically were different in the city and the rural area, in traditional Catholic lands and regions with Protestant domination. A more thorough study of this issue will contribute to a deeper understanding of the Nazi church policy and Christian Resistance.
